sweat sweat sweat

I'M BACK. I was being lazy and haven't updated this blog in a while... so I thought I should get back to it.

Last Saturday (July 26th), my best friend and I decided to go to Seoul Zimzibang Korean Sauna. It's located on Steeles and Dufferin and on a small street. To be honest, when we drove there, we were like "uh, this is a little bit sketchy". Yes, it's in some hidden building but it isn't as sketchy as it sounds. It was really empty when we went even though it was already 12 PM.

When we went in, the lady told us to take off our shoes and put it in the shoe locker. Then she gave us another key and a large t-shirt and shorts. We went into the change rooms (which was surprisingly nice, new, and clean) and got changed. The showers were communal though. It was literally a large shower room with shower heads lined up side by side and you were supposed to just go in there naked and shower beside other naked women. There was even a sign that said "No clothing allowed inside". I didn't think they'd have that here.

Anyway, we went out and there was this huge lounge area with sofas and a TV and a snack bar. Imagine someone's newly furnished, large basement. That's what it was like. We ordered a boiled egg because both of us didn't have breakfast and then we went inside to the sauna room!

What's different about a korean sauna and a normal sauna is that korean saunas have certain mineral that claim to help a certain part of the body. At this place, there were 5 rooms each with a different mineral (gold, salt, etc.). And then there was an Ice Room for you to cool down after going into the sauna. We went to 3/5 sauna rooms and it was really really relaxing. One of the rooms went up to 90 degrees celcius. It was really nice to be honest. After the sauna, I felt kinda jiggly and light which is a good thing.

Will definitely go here again.

xx
